Alpha Guide's evaluation
The first member of Aman Resorts in Greece, the chain that invented the term “boutique resort”, is “hidden” in a hill with panoramic views over an area of 960,000 sq.m., full of olive trees. Its strength is the sense of exclusiveness. It consists of 38 suites/pavillions, which vary only in the size of the private pool and the view. The layout of the pavillions enhances the contact with the outdoor spaces (100 sq.m. interiors and a 100 sq.m. yard each). The lovely courtyard with various relaxation corners looks like a continuation of the room. Luxurious materials, such as gray marble, make their presence evident throughout, managing nonetheless to ensure a sense of lightness. Open plan bedroom and living room. Particular emphasis has been put to the very large, well-equipped bathrooms. The public areas are large and imposing, with references to ancient Greece and a sense of monumentality. Airy and elegant, the pool restaurant and the evening restaurant emphasize on Greek cuisine with cosmopolitan touches. Very interesting spa, focusing on holistic treatments. The complex features a beach club-resto in a beautiful nearby beach (15 minutes or so by car, with a track of dirt road). The resort’s boat may be rented for short trips.
